This series of illustrations was created for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO as part of the Safeguarding your language through documentation toolkit, developed in support of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, written by Aiyana Twigg.

These illustrations were born from thinking of Indigenous languages as not just something spoken, but as a living thing in the universe, with a spirit that is tied to the spaces and people around us.
